"I am so pleased. I tried getting the drive safe and save beacon to work on my own but was unsuccessful. I got a call from Olivia who helped me get successfully connected so I can save more money with the beacon installed at State Farm. Additionally, she had a real helpful attitude. I never felt like I was imposing on her time."

"I moved from Florida to North Carolina in July and immediately contacted State Farm to update my address. I called their main number, was routed to a representative, and verbalized that I had moved states. I also updated my address in the app and spoke to multiple humans at their Weaverville, NC, office. I moved around quite a bit in NC at the end of the year because of Hurricane Helene, and every time I moved, I made contact with State Farm. I believed my job was done. Fast-forward to March and the renewal of my registration, and I discovered that my insurance was never transferred to North Carolina, meaning I’ve been overpaying for Florida insurance this entire time. After investigating, I found records of the calls and a text message from a State Farm representative dated December 3rd confirming that my address change included both my mailing and physical address. Yet, despite this confirmation, my policy was never updated. When I called to address this, I was given the runaround. The Weaverville office blamed Florida, and Florida blamed me. They insisted that I had only changed my mailing address and not my physical address when I knew for a fact that I had done both. I told them I had confirmation from their own representative, but they dismissed it, insisting I was wrong. To make matters worse, one of their Florida representatives, Olivia Strauss, was outright rude and combative. Instead of helping, she raised her voice at me, accused me of making the mistake, and when I pushed back, she hung up on me. This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior, especially when dealing with a frustrated customer who had been overpaying due to their error. And let’s be clear: Olivia wasn’t reacting to my tone; she was reacting to being challenged. After I was hung up on, I called back and reached a different representative, Karen Sullivan. Once I started calmly explaining the situation and presenting the facts, her tone softened, and she became much more professional. Despite this shift in demeanor, Karen informed me that a refund was unlikely. When she first answered the phone, her voice was loud and defensive, clearly indicating she had been riled up by whatever Olivia had told her. It was as if she was prepared for a confrontation with a rude customer. However, once I provided undeniable proof that my physical address had been updated and read the text message verbatim—the one confirming my address change included both mailing and physical— She had a noticeable shift in tone. Suddenly, she was willing to “look into it” and told me to email her the screenshot but that she would be out of town next week. I did email her only to receive an automated response in return. This should have been handled immediately. Instead, I was ignored, dismissed, and blamed for their mistake until I provided undeniable proof. This is an insurance office, not a court proceeding. Olivia’s behavior was inexcusable, and she should be reprimanded or fired. If a customer calls upset—rightfully so—because they’ve been overpaying for months due to an error on your end, your response should be to fix it, not to argue, gaslight, and hang up on them. This experience highlights serious issues with accountability and communication at State Farm. Instead of taking responsibility, they shift blame between offices, leaving customers stuck with the consequences. If you’re considering State Farm, be warned: even if you do everything right, they can and will mishandle your account, gaslight you into thinking it’s your fault, and refuse to make it right. And if you dare to push back? Expect to be hung up on. Avoid this company unless you want to overpay, be disrespected, and have to fight for basic competence. Update: The level of unprofessionalism displayed by the Jeff Hoffer office was staggering. From mocking my review to rudely placing all the blame on me for their failure to process my address change, their complete lack of accountability and respect for customers is unacceptable. I will be reporting this to DFS and NAIC."
"I am sorry for your experience. Moving residences can be challenging. You must obtain new state of NC coverage because each state has different rules. Application for the coverage coincides with your getting your car registration in the new state. Unfortunately, the change in vehicle registration and placement of NC Insurance coverage are the responsibility of the insured. "

"Jeff Hoffer-State Farm I was with Progressive Insurance and I was paying 500 a month with no collision and know I am paying 170 month for the same plan. My agent name was Darren and he was great he was able to help me get everything situated and switch over with no hassle. Working with State Farm and Darren to switch me over was great and seamless. "Olivia did a fantastic job answering my questions about my coverages on my new Subaru! However, in regards to the company State Farm...I sold my second pickup truck and lost my multi vehicle discount which boosted my Subaru payment almost $200 for six months. Not a happy camper with State Farm's high insurance rates for someone that only drives less than 100 miles a week mostly in a small town area. I've been with State Farm for over 50 years with only one minor accident that was not my fault."

"Rachel Starling was efficient and not pushy. Definitely like the cliche' jingle "like a good neighbor" she was friendly, helpful and kind. This makes such a difference when deciding among the many car insurances. Thanks Rachel for being there when my family needed it."

"Sent email with NO RESPONSE. A damaged windshield and use of roadside assistance caused my rates to go up 4XXXX! THANKS Jeff! Run far away from State Farm and this agency."
"Jon I am not sure why your rate went up. I can assure you that it was not due to a windshield replacement. State Farm rates increase only from an at fault loss exceeding a specific dollar amount. Give our office a call and we can review your coverages to see if we can have an impact on your rates. "

"Insurance is frustrating to manage to be sure. I had policies with Geico for Homeowners & Auto. When renewal time came, I tried calling to speak to an agent with some questions. 2 weeks later, no call back. I called several other insurance companies and a broker for quotes and info. It wasn't until I got a call from Tracy at State Farm that I made any progress. Not only did she lower my payments considerably, she talked me through both policies to make sure it had the coverage I needed and could afford. Best agent I have dealt with in 5 years. She didn't just sell me a policy, she made sure I had the right coverage for my needs, answered many questions and gave me the customer service I needed and couldn't get anywhere else. Thank you Tracy!"
"Kelly thank you for your kind words."

"I would like to start off with that when shopping for car insurance it seem this company came up with the best price without cutting back on my current insurance policy, Rachel Starling was very helpful and explained the policy very well. We did decide to go with this company due to her really helping us out and making sure that we got was we needed and nothing that we did not need, thank you so very much Rachel, most definitely would recommend this person to see, thanks again, KVSmith,"
"Keith we are happy to have you as a customer."

"After more than a week of unproductive emails, texts, and phone calls, with a recalcitrant emergency lockout service, Karen intervened on my behalf to obtain an invoice that I can submit for reimbursement. Thanks for applying State Farm's leverage to deliver for me!"
"I am sorry that you had a difficult experience. Karen is always willing to help"
